Don't believe me? I just did it!īy "capable", do you mean the image isn't stretched and you see more than on 4:3? Have you compared screenshots between 4:3 and 16:9? I had some spare time so I made a few edits to it :) Another point of note - original RM is totally capable of running widescreen resolutions. I would recommend RMME over RM any day (and not just for compatibility reasons!). I think that RMME looks/plays better than RM, but the reason why you hear the bad press about RMME is becaus RM was almost revolutionary for its day but RMME was lower than average. My opinion is that people's standards for "good enough" graphics increase with time. It's very difficult to have a computer with enough single-threaded CPU performance to let RM run at super high framerates at modern high resolutions, even with modern CPUs. The problem is, that version of the Plasma 3D engine was barely optimised after they converted it from Glide to DirectX - it doesn't even take into account proper hardware-accelerated T&L, which was a thing that graphics cards have accelerated since the days of the GeForce 2. If you have a fast enough computer, it'll go higher - I've had it get over 60fps at times for me. I think the pcgamingwiki page is wrong as realMyst isn't locked to 20fps.
